HP Printer Setup from 123.hp.com

  • First, open the cardboard box and remove the accessories on top.Then, tilt the printer box and gently drag the printer out of the box. Remove the cover on the printer and peel away the tapes. Next, open the ink cartridge access area and remove the packaging materials. Lastly, check the Paper Tray for packaging materials and remove them.

The Wireless Setup Wizard helps you connect your printer to your system through a Wireless Network. Make sure that you have the following items before you get started with the process. These requirements are applicable irrespective of whether your printer has a touch-screen panel or not.

   i) Network Name (SSID)

ii) Network Password.

  • First, press the Wireless button and Start Copy Black button at the same time. 
  • If your printer doesn’t have a Copy Button then press the Wireless button and Information button at the same time
  • Your HP Printer will print out a test report. Follow the instructions on the test report to complete the Setup Process. If your printer has connected to the system successfully, you’ll see that the Wireless light becomes solid.
  • Go to the home screen of your printer and touch the Wireless icon of your printer.
  • Then, touch the Network Settings or Setup menu. Next, tap the Network or Wireless menu.
  • Now, select the Wireless Setup Wizard and follow the instructions on the screen to connect the printer to the network. Make sure that you enter the password correctly as passwords are case-sensitive.

Before you begin the USB setup, make sure that the following requirements are satisfied.

  • Your HP printer is turned ON and in a ready state. The USB cable is not more than 3 m in length.
  • If you see that the USB cable is connected to the computer, make sure that is disconnected.
  • Next, go to 123.hp.com/setup and enter the name of your printer in the search box. 
  • Then, press the Search button and hit the Download button to start the download.
  • Wait for your system to download the HP Easy Start Utility.

      • First, switch on your printer and Apple device. Then, connect them to the same Wireless Network. Next, open the document that you want to print, on your Apple device. Then, tap the Share icon and the Print icon.
      • Next, change the Printer Settings and set the number of copies, page range, etc. Lastly, choose the Print option and wait for the Printer to print the document.

HP PRINTER - DOUBLE SIDED PRINTING

      • First, check if your printer has enough paper to complete the print job.
      • Then, open the document that you want to print. Next, click File and select the Print option.
      • Select the name of your HP Printer and then choose Printer Properties, Preferences or Printer Setup.
      • In case there’s a Printing shortcuts tab, you can choose printing on both sides directly.
      • Next, choose between the Booklet and Tablet style.
      • Then, click OK and then Print to start printing the document.
      • Once the first sides of the documents are printed, remove them from the tray.
      • Follow the instructions on your computer screen or printer control panel to learn how to load the paper into the tray.

HP PRINTER - HOW TO SCAN

To scan documents to the system, you must first download and install the software drivers from 123.hp.com/setup .

Then, open the scanner glass lid and place the printed side of the document on it. Close the scanner glass lid and touch the Scan button on the control panel. Next, select the type of Scan job and touch Scan. Once the scan is complete, it’ll automatically open in the desktop. You can save it to the required folder.

Scanning with printers without a touch-screen panel

First, open the HP Printer Assistant. Then, place the document on the scanner glass lid. Next, click the “Scan a Document or Photo” in order to open the HP Scan software. You can select the scan type and scan shortcut. To see how your scan will look, you can use the Preview Scan option. If you want to change the destination in which your scan will be saved, simplu go to Advanced Settings, click More, then choose destination and browse.

  • First, click the power button to start which is in the top left corner of the printers backside.
  • Then open the HP Printer Assistant and go to Scan. Then, go to Scan Shortcut on the right and select Scan to E-mail.
  • Next, place the printed-side of the article face down on the scanner glass and close the scanner glass lid.
  • When you’ve finished changing the Scan Settings, you can choose the Scan option to start the Scan process.
  • Next, click Send to automatically open an e-mail message with an attachment.

Note that you must download and install the full-featured software drivers from 123.hp.com or 123.hp.com/setup so that you can use this scan feature.

HP PRINTERS - HOW TO COPY DOCUMENTS

For printers with a touch-screen based control panel

  • Load the document onto your printer scanner glass.
  • Touch the Copy Document or Copy Photo option on your printer.

HP PRINTER ERROR LIGHTS

You might see a series of blinking lights on your printer depending on the error state that your printer is in. Follow the steps below to clear the error messages.

Attention Light is Blinking

First, slide out the Paper Output Tray and open the Paper Output Tray extender. If the light stops blinking, skip the rest of the section. In case the Attention Light doesn’t stop blinking follow the steps below. Check if there’s a paper jam in any area of the printer. Also check if there is any debris in any of the Paper Tray. Try to reset your printer. You can also clean the Paper rollers and see if the blinking stops. Print a Printer Test Page. If you can print the test page, it means that there’s no problem with the printer hardware.

Attention Light + Both the Cartridge Lights Blinking

To solve this issue, simply check if there’s an ink carriage jam or if the ink cartridge door is open. If you happen to find an ink carriage jam, clear it from the ink cartridge access area.

All the lights are Blinking

This means that the printer is in an error state. To troubleshoot this error, follow the steps below.

Reset your printer. You’ll find a section that tells you how to reset your printer, on this page. If you’ve connected your printer to the wall outlet with a power strip, remove the strip and connect it to your wall outlet directly. In case none of the above solutions work, you must get your printer serviced so that it functions properly.

HP PRINTER RESET

Resetting your printer is the best option to resolve any printer issue. Follow the steps below to reset your printer.

First, switch on your printer and make sure that it is active. Then, remove the power cord from the rear of the printer while the power is still on. First, go to Settings and then Printers. Right-click on the printer icon and click use Printer Online option. If this doesn’t work, double-click your printer and click cancel All Documents. Your printer might not start printing documents if it already has documents lined up in the printer queue. 

 Re-install the software drivers from hp.com/setup . If this doesn’t work, uninstall and re-install the printer from the Settings option. Download the HP Print and Scan Doctor. HP PRINTER PAPER JAM ISSUE

First, check the Paper Input Tray and Paper Output Tray for Paper Jams. If you find that there are any papers stuck in either of the places, gently remove them. Next, open the ink cartridge, wait for the slots to reach the center and plug out the power cord. Slide the ink cartridge slot to the extreme end.

If the above steps don’t work, check the ADF and the rear of the printer. Don’t switch on the printer while you check it for jams. In case the problems persist, try cleaning the paper feed rollers and check if the ink cartridge contacts have plastic film stuck to them.
